Its price was trading well above $0.60 at the start of the month before crashing to as low as $0.43 on August 5 (amid the overall crypto market collapse <\/span><span>which happened on<\/span><span> that day).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Three days later, though, XRP headed north again, surpassing $0.63 following a major development in the Ripple v SEC lawsuit. Judge Torres <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ripple-fined-125m-in-lawsuit-against-sec-xrp-price-soars-20-immediately\/\">ruled<\/a> that the company must pay a $125 million fine for violating certain securities laws, a sum representing a 94% deduction compared to the regulator\u2019s initial request of $2 billion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>XRP could not <\/span><span>keep the<\/span><span> momentum, and in the following days, it retraced below $0.60. Currently, it trades at around $0.57 (per <\/span><span>CoinGecko\u2019s<\/span><span> data), a 25% increase on a two-week scale.<\/span><span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/XRP-Price-4.png\"><\/a>XRP Price, Source: CoinGecko<\/p>\n<p><span>Some analysts remain optimistic that a fresh resurgence could be in the cards. <\/span><span>Crypto Rover<\/span><span> \u2013 <\/span><span>an X user with over 800,000 followers<\/span><span> \u2013 <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/rovercrc\/status\/1825146375777952009\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>claimed<\/span><\/a><span> that XRP is \u201cgearing up for a huge breakout.\u201d He based <\/span><span>the<\/span><span> forecast on the potential cross of the asset\u2019s upside and downside trendlines.<\/span><span> The meeting point is usually a precursor of a violent move in any direction.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>CRYPTOWZRD also gave their two cents, <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/cryptoWZRD_\/status\/1825347013598232641\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>arguing<\/span><\/a><span> that XRP\u2019s chart remains \u201coverall positive.\u201d The analyst expects a short-term rally to the resistance level of $0.65, which could later <\/span><span>be followed<\/span><span> by further upside pressure.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span>What is the RSI Suggesting?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span>One important metric that gauges XRP\u2019s price change and speed is the Relative Strength Index (RSI). It varies from 0 to 100 and shows whether the token is overbought or oversold.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>A ratio above 70 hints that XRP is in overbought territory, meaning a price correction could be in the cards. Currently, the RSI <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cryptowaves.app\/relative-strength-index\/XRP\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stands<\/a> at around 60, surpassing the <\/span><span>aforementioned zone<\/span><span> only once in the past 20 days.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>It is worth noting that the ratio plunged below 20 at the start of July when XRP\u2019s price was hovering at around $0.39.
