That\u2019s a lot of voters!<\/p>\n<p>600k of these advocates joined after a Whitehouse veto threat, and thousands mobilized around the back-to-back historic, bipartisan wins in the House and Senate.<\/p>\n<p>Crypto\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/IEotx8AXm9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pic.twitter.com\/IEotx8AXm9<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Brian Armstrong (@brian_armstrong) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/brian_armstrong\/status\/1798446241455673437?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">June 5, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n\n<h2>US Crypto Support Grows<\/h2>\n<p>The comments came in reference to the Biden Administration <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/biden-admin-to-kill-republican-bill-letting-u-s-banks-custody-crypto\/\">attempting to block<\/a> Republican crypto legislation that would enable banks to custody digital assets for clients.<\/p>\n<p>However, things have gone in favor of the industry recently, with the House of Representatives voting to pass the bill and the <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/house-passes-fit21-bill-to-provide-crypto-legal-clarity-with-two-thirds-majority\/\">passing<\/a> of the Financial Innovation and Technology for the 21st Century Act (FIT21) in May.<\/p>\n<p>The Stand with Crypto Alliance, an advocacy organization focused on mobilizing the crypto community to directly engage in the legislative process, was launched by Coinbase in August 2023 in response to the increasingly heavy-handed enforcement action from regulators.<\/p>\n<p>On June 5, it surpassed a million supporters, with the figure <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standwithcrypto.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">standing at<\/a> 1,011,058 at the time of writing. It also has had $87 million donated by crypto supporters to further its cause.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the potential voters in the November US presidential election, Armstrong said, \u201cIt\u2019s a much bigger voting bloc than most people probably would have anticipated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Armstrong added that the surge in the group\u2019s membership was fueled by frustration over the Biden administration\u2019s veto and by strong support for the FIT21 bill that would create a new legal framework for crypto assets giving the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) more oversight.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to Reuters, he said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that it\u2019s just bad politics to be anti-crypto. There\u2019s no voter constituency that you\u2019re winning over by doing that, but you are upsetting a huge number of Americans who\u2019ve used this technology,\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Big Donations for Pro-Crypto Candidates<\/h2>\n<p>The crypto industry is spending tens of millions of dollars in this year\u2019s elections to boost friendly candidates against those who are against it.<\/p>\n<p>On June 3, Coinbase announced a $25 million donation to the pro-crypto political action committee (PAC) Fairshake.
