The price of Ethereum has somewhat slowed down<\/a> over the weekend after a breakdown of negotiations between the United States and Iran. However, the latest on-chain data suggests that this moment of uncertainty has barely impacted the market structure of the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap. According to a prominent analyst, the Ethereum price seems to be at a turning point, which could usher in a fresh bullish cycle.<\/p>\n

ETH May Be Near A Major Uptrend<\/h2>\n

In a Quicktake post on the CryptoQuant platform, CryptoOnchain revealed<\/a> that significant amounts of the Ether tokens have been flowing out of Binance, the world\u2019s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume. This on-chain observation is based on the 365-day Simple Moving Average of Ethereum Exchange Netflow on Binance.<\/p>\n

According to CryptoOnchain, this metric has been in a steady decline, recently falling to its lowest level since May 2024. Typically, this trend is often a bullish indicator for prices, as it suggests that investors are pulling their assets off exchanges to self-custodial wallets for long-term holding.<\/p>\n

However, the highlighted metric has historically proven to be a reliable leading indicator for significant macroeconomic price movements<\/a>. As observed in the chart below, whenever the 365-day Simple Moving Average of Ethereum Exchange Netflow fell to extreme lows in the past, it was followed by an upward reversal often coinciding with the start of major Ethereum bull rallies.<\/p>\n

CryptoOnchain noted that this repeating pattern strongly indicates an ongoing accumulation phase for Ethereum. \u201cWhen netflows hit extreme lows on a long-term moving average, it typically indicates that investors are withdrawing their assets from exchanges for long-term holding, thereby drastically reducing immediate sell pressure in the market,\u201d the pundit wrote in the Quicktake post.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the crypto analyst mentioned that, if history were to repeat itself, the current formation of a bottom could lay the structural foundation for the next major upward macro trend<\/a> for the Ethereum price. CryptoOnchain told market participants to closely monitor this metric for a \u201cdecisive upward pivot\u201d to confirm the start of a new bullish cycle.<\/p>\n

Ethereum Price Overview<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As of this writing, the price of ETH stands at around $2,353, reflecting an over 3% decline in the past 24 hours. While the altcoin crumbled on the back of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the past-day action was not enough to completely wipe out the last week\u2019s gain. According to CoinGecko data, the Ethereum price is still up by about 2% in the past seven weeks.<\/p>\n
