Ripple\u2019s XRP, Cardano\u2019s ADA, Shiba Inu (SHIB), and Chainlink (LINK) are the others included in the ranking.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Despite topping the list, Litecoin has witnessed a step back as non-empty LTC wallets were around 9.4 million several months ago. On the other hand, XRP and SHIB holders are currently at an all-time high level. As <\/span><em><span>CryptoPotato<\/span><\/em> <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ripple-xrp-achieves-a-major-milestone-details\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>a raportat<\/span><\/a><span>, the number of XRP wallets reached the 5 million milestone at the start of the year and has only <\/span><span>been progressing<\/span><span> since then.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Shiba Inu might have <\/span><span>less<\/span><span> holders than its main rival<\/span><span> - <\/span><span>Dogecoin<\/span><span> - <\/span><span>but one research entity <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/shiba-inu-has-the-strongest-meme-coin-community-whos-second\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>estimated<\/span><\/a><span> that it has the strongest and most devoted community. The study was based on the overall number of <\/span><span>socially-driven<\/span><span> engagements, including likes, retweets, and posts involving SHIB, with the results announced at the end of last year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>DOGE ranked second on that list, whereas Pepe (PEPE), Floki Inu (FLOKI), and Bonk Inu (BONK) were next in line.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span>Litecoin\u2019s Longevity<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span>The cryptocurrency\u2019s <\/span><span>aforementioned achievement<\/span><span> could <\/span><span>be explained<\/span><span> by the fact that it saw the light of day over a decade ago. It was created by Charlie Lee and released in October 2011 to provide an alternative to Bitcoin with faster transactions. Litecoin has a block time of approximately 2.5 minutes compared to BTC\u2019s 10 minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>It also has a capacity for up to 50 transactions per second, whereas the primary cryptocurrency can handle up to seven transactions for the same period.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Similar to BTC, Litecoin employs a halving mechanism to reduce <\/span><span>in half<\/span><span> the daily issuance of new tokens.<\/span><span> The event occurs approximately every four years (or every 840,000 blocks), with the latest <\/span><span>one <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/litecoin-undergoes-3rd-halving-but-ltc-plunges-6-why\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>happening<\/span><\/a><span> in August last year. <\/span><span>Back then,<\/span> <span>the miners\u2019 rewards were cut<\/span><span> from 12.5 LTC to 6.25 LTC.<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The halving is usually a precursor of a price uptrend.
