Despite price challenges for the underlying asset and growing community uncertainty about some of its features and a lack of improvement, the Core Team behind the controversial project continues with its scheduled protocol updates.<\/p>\n

In the most recent post on X, they outlined when the new upgrade should be implemented but also cautioned that it could face a similar delay as the previous one.<\/p>\n

The Pi Mainnet is upgrading to Protocol 25.
\nDeadline: June 18.<\/p>\n

All Mainnet nodes are required to complete this step before the deadline to remain connected to the network. This upgrade takes longer to complete. Plan accordingly.<\/p>\n

Recall that the major protocol updates began in February with the introduction of version 19.6. The following ones, v19.9, v20.2, v22, and v23, came as the months of the new year progressed. Most of them were implemented on schedule, leaving little doubt within its vast community.<\/p>\n

Then came the transition to protocol version 24. The team said it had to be deployed by May 15. However, they noted<\/a> a week after that deadline had passed that it turned out to be \u201cone of the most challenging\u201d to date because it \u201cinvolved multiple subsystem upgrades and optimizations that required internal data reprocessing.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the start of June, though, the team managed to bypass<\/a> all the issues and said version 24 had been successfully implemented. They also set the deadline for the next one, which, as mentioned above, is June 18.<\/p>\n

As with previous protocol updates, the team reminded all Mainnet nodes to complete this step before that deadline to remain connected to the network. However, they also warned that, similar to v24, it could take longer to be deployed.<\/p>\n
