The chart below shows that the pattern completed the cup during its mid-2025 rally and has been forming the handle since the altcoin reached its latest all-time high (ATH).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" class=\"size-large wp-image-896541\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbtc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/HIXJz7GWMAAX7gN.jpeg?w=860&amp;resize=860%2C482\" alt=\"XRP\" width=\"860\" height=\"482\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Based on this, he suggested that XRP \u201cmay seek a Gaussian Channel retest to mark a periodic bottom,\u201d as the indicator has been a strong confluence area over the past nine years.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, the cryptocurrency has seen three similar <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbtc.com\/bitcoin-news\/bitcoin-fails-82000-breakout-three-times\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener \">retests<\/a> within the cup, and also marked the cycle low in 2017. Now, the $0.70-$0.90 area may also mark the handle\u2019s bottom, where the 0.50 FIB level awaits in the same territory as support.<\/p>\n<p>The market watcher has previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbtc.com\/news\/more-pain-xrp-q2-how-much-lower-can-it-go\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener \">explained<\/a> that a rejection from the $1.60-$1.80 area is likely and will potentially send XPP toward a cycle bottom of $0.70 later in the year, as it marks a prior level of macro resistance that hasn\u2019t been retested yet.<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, he affirmed that, regardless of where the macro low is marked, \u201cfuture FIB extensions await above targeting $8,\u201d with two potential double-digit targets sitting around the $13 and $27 marks.<\/p>\n<h2>2,000% Expansion Ahead?<\/h2>\n<p>ChartNerd also <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ChartNerdTA\/status\/2055341853914931452?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">noted<\/a> that the potential handle bottom of the Cup and Handle formation aligns with a key multi-year retest inside a fractal.
