From a USD perspective, this fortune is worth around $1.80 billion.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">In the last two weeks, whales have offloaded over 430,000 Ethereum <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24ETH&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">$ETH<\/a>, worth around $1.80 billion! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/4kWpqVdbS5\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/4kWpqVdbS5<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ali (@ali_charts) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ali_charts\/status\/1961948802786459848?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">August 31, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Recall that they <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ethereum-whales-unfazed-by-the-correction-heres-how-much-they-bought\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">accumulated<\/a> almost the same amount just a few weeks ago, as ETH\u2019s price had dipped from over $4,800 to under $4,100. Just a few days later, the cryptocurrency skyrocketed to a fresh all-time high of $4,950 before it corrected once again to $4,250 amid the current sell-off.<\/p>\n<p>One particular whale, though, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/this-bitcoin-og-dumps-btc-for-ethereum-after-7-years-of-silence\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">who has become known as a Bitcoin OG<\/a> in the crypto community over the past few weeks, remains unfazed by the current market sentiment. They continue to swap BTC for ETH with another $109 million transaction completed earlier today. In total, the whale has purchased roughly $3.4 billion worth of ETH while disposing of massive BTC quantities.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">This Bitcoin OG just deposited another 1,000 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24BTC&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">$BTC<\/a>($109M) into <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Hyperliquid?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">#Hyperliquid<\/a> to dump and buy <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24ETH&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">$ETH<\/a> spot.<\/p>\n<p>He had previously purchased 740,570 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24ETH&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">$ETH<\/a>($3.4B) and staked it.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/hjiqx8R4Cy\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/t.co\/hjiqx8R4Cy<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/7fACdeeZZs\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">pic.twitter.com\/7fACdeeZZs<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Lookonchain (@lookonchain) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lookonchain\/status\/1961996001381842945?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">August 31, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>Drop Below $4K?<\/h2>\n<p>Such massive sell-offs by whales could impact the underlying asset in a two-fold manner. First, they increase the immediate selling pressure. Second, their actions could be mimicked by smaller investors, which could have a snowball effect on the asset\u2019s price movements.<\/p>\n<p>As mentioned above, ETH dipped to $4,250 earlier today before it recovered some ground to regain $200. However, the danger still looms of a more profound correction that could push the asset to $4,000 for the first time since early August.<\/p>\n<p>Martinez indicated that this is the most significant support line for ETH\u2019s current market structure.
