Its growth in popularity over the past several years has been quite astonishing, which sometimes even surpasses its market rise.<\/p>\n<p>As such, whenever someone, especially a high-profile figure within the crypto industry, speaks against XRP in some form, there\u2019s usually backlash.<\/p>\n<h2>A Bank Wearing a Hoodie?<\/h2>\n<p>Davinci Jeremie is among the OG crypto influencers and analysts, famously advising people to buy BTC when it was worth $1. In a recent post on X, he criticized XRP for several of its key features that could actually be making it a \u201cbank wearing a hoodie.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He outlined that these factors could be hidden leverage, fake decentralization, pausable exits, insider advantages, and users locked in wrapped IOUs. Instead, he commented that bitcoin does not have any of these.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Your favorite crypto project is just a bank wearing a hoodie.<\/p>\n<p>*cough* <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24XRP&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$XRP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hidden leverage \u2713<br \/>\nFake decentralization \u2713<br \/>\nPausable exits \u2713<br \/>\nInsider advantages \u2713<br \/>\nUsers locked in wrapped IOUs \u2713<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Bitcoin?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Bitcoin<\/a> has none of these.<\/p>\n<p>Name one other project that doesn\u2019t. I\u2019ll wait. <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/16.0.1\/72x72\/1f447.png\" alt=\"\ud83d\udc47\" class=\"wp-smiley\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Davinci Jeremie (@Davincij15) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Davincij15\/status\/2031604910656205183?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 11, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Somewhat expectedly, most comments below the posts lashed out at Jeremie, with one <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DonnieRolex888\/status\/2031606965999382810\">saying<\/a>, \u201cThat\u2019s the dumbest thing I\u2019ve ever read from you. XRP is everything that they wanted Bitcoin to be. That\u2019s a fact.\u201d Naturally, Jeremie <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Davincij15\/status\/2031608384630505764\">disagreed<\/a>.\u00a0<span>Others, though, agreed with his initial comments, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Sameer_Markets\/status\/2031636571292840084\">saying<\/a> that \u201cXRP is a s**t and not a match\u201d to bitcoin.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Finally, XRP\u2019s Moment?<\/h2>\n<p>In contrast to the aforementioned statement, XRP Bags, among the vocal members of the XRP community on X, outlined what it feels like to be a holder of the cross-border token.
