The \u201ctrading volume\u201d here refers to an indicator that keeps track of the total amount of a given token that\u2019s becoming involved in trading activity on the various centralized exchanges.<\/p>\n<p>When the value of the metric rises, it means exchanges are observing increased activity surrounding the asset. Such a trend implies the token is attracting attention from traders. On the other hand, the indicator going down suggests investors may be losing interest in the market as they are participating in fewer trades on exchanges.<\/p>\n<p>Now, here is the chart shared by Santiment that shows how the trading volume of the different top-cap cryptos has changed over the last few years:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/HKgtcQ_XkAA7_ud?format=jpg&amp;name=4096x4096\" alt=\"Crypto Volume\" width=\"3104\" height=\"1743\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As displayed in the above graph, the trading volume peaked for the combined crypto sector back in mid-2025. Since then, the indicator has followed a downward trajectory for the various coins.<\/p>\n<p>After the latest continuation of the downtrend, the crypto trading volume has declined to its lowest level since mid-2024. \u201cTraders appear reluctant to aggressively buy or sell as macro uncertainty, geopolitical tensions, and recent liquidations keep participants on the sidelines,\u201d noted the analytics firm.<\/p>\n<p>While the trend may look bearish at first glance, the past pattern could suggest otherwise for the market. \u201cHistorically, some of crypto\u2019s strongest recoveries have emerged from periods when interest, volume, and participation were at their lowest,\u201d explained Santiment. Considering this, it now remains to be seen how the sector will develop in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>While crypto volume may have waned, the same hasn\u2019t been true for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbtc.com\/news\/dogecoin\/dogecoin-adoption-is-back\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener \">adoption<\/a>. As highlighted by the analytics firm in another X <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SantimentData\/status\/2064786902662738059\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">p\u0159\u00edsp\u011bvek<\/a>, the Total Amount of Holders, an indicator tracking the total number of non-empty addresses present on a given network, has been climbing for the different top assets in recent years.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/HKeW9N7W4AAWMu9?format=jpg&amp;name=4096x4096\" alt=\"Crypto Total Amount Of Holders\" width=\"3023\" height=\"1697\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/p>\n<p>From the chart, it\u2019s apparent that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbtc.com\/analysis\/eth\/ethereum-price-could-spark-upswing-1550\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener \">Ethereum<\/a> is the crypto that has enjoyed the strongest adoption, with the Total Amount Of Holders sitting at 195 million. \u201cWhile social media remains focused on $ETH\u2019s underperformance, user adoption has continued moving in the opposite direction,\u201d said Santiment.<\/p>\n<h2>Bitcoin Price<\/h2>\n<p>At the time of writing, Bitcoin is floating around $62,700, up 1.8% in the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/x\/BphhM9ZN\/\" alt=\"Bitcoin Price Chart\" width=\"1486\" height=\"957\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On-chain data shows trading volume in the crypto sector has slumped to the lowest level in two years, a sign that investors have turned their attention away from the market.
