{"id":43557,"date":"2026-05-15T08:14:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-15T08:14:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptd.in\/hyperliquid-hype-explodes-by-20-in-a-day-but-red-flags-appear\/"},"modified":"2026-05-15T08:14:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-15T08:14:12","slug":"hyperliquid-hype-explodes-by-20-in-a-day-but-red-flags-appear","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptd.in\/cs\/hyperliquid-hype-explodes-by-20-in-a-day-but-red-flags-appear\/","title":{"rendered":"Hyperliquid (HYPE) Explodes by 20% in a Day but Red Flags Appear"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hyperliquid\u2019s native token has stolen the show from the larger-cap alts, rocketing by over 20% at one point to its highest price level since last October at $47.\u00a0On this impressive way up, the token added roughly $2 billion to its market capitalization and neared the top 10 alts by that metric.<\/p>\n<p>Coinbase appears to be the most likely candidate for the biggest contributors to this surge after <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/coinbase-becomes-official-usdc-treasury-deployer-on-hyperliquid\/\">announcing<\/a> that it had expanded support for USDC on Hyperliquid by becoming the official treasury deployer of the stablecoin under the DEX\u2019s Aligned Quote Asset (AQA) framework.<\/p>\n<p>21Shares\u2019 HYPE ETF <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/21shares-hyperliquid-etf-debuts-with-1-8m-in-trading-volume\/\">debuted<\/a> earlier this week, which was also a positive development, while another one is set to launch today from Bitwise.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the US Senate Banking Committee voted to advance the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, which gave the entire crypto market a notable price push.<\/p>\n<h2>The Warning Signs<\/h2>\n<p>Ali Martinez was among the first analysts to weigh in on HYPE\u2019s massive surge. As he usually does, he based his X post on the TD Sequential, a metric used to determine whether the underlying asset has exhausted its move in either direction.<\/p>\n<p>Martinez <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/alicharts\/status\/2055123000408825981\">noted<\/a> that the indicator had caught HYPE\u2019s rebound from $22 to $44 over several months but has now flashed a major sell signal. It could lead to some profit-taking and perhaps drive the asset south to $36 or even $33.<\/p>\n<p>Crypto Patel shared a similar opinion and warned traders to be wary of potentially getting \u201ccaught on the wrong side of HYPE.\u201d The analyst believes that if the token fails to overcome $46, the roadmap looks quite painful:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/16.0.1\/72x72\/25aa.png\" alt=\"\u25aa\" class=\"wp-smiley\" \/> $33 \u2192 First Meaningful Reaction<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/16.0.1\/72x72\/25aa.png\" alt=\"\u25aa\" class=\"wp-smiley\" \/> $30 \u2192 Where I\u2019m Actually Interested (Bullish OB + 0.5 Fib Confluence)<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/16.0.1\/72x72\/25aa.png\" alt=\"\u25aa\" class=\"wp-smiley\" \/> $27 \u2192 Golden Pocket, Deeper Liquidity<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/16.0.1\/72x72\/25aa.png\" alt=\"\u25aa\" class=\"wp-smiley\" \/> $24 \u2192 The Floor I Don\u2019t Expect To See, But It\u2019s There<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>However, Patel <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CryptoPatel\/status\/2055148475478864208\">added<\/a> that if HYPE manages to break past $50, then this model will be invalidated, and they will flip their own view.<\/p>\n<h2>The 20\/80 Ratio<\/h2>\n<p>Fellow analyst GA Crypto was also cautious, but also outlined a specific 20\/80 ratio regarding HYPE\u2019s potential to post a new all-time high.
